Jeff grew up in St. Louis when hockey hadn't hit it's stride yet. At a young age he learned that if he wanted to be successful, he would need to find every edge he could to keep playing hockey past AAA. For Jeff, that edge was off ice training. While playing in the USHL, his love for training grew, realizing it was the catalyst to raising his game to another level.
He accepted a scholarship to play Div I hockey for Western Mich where he studied Exercise Science. He attribute's being named captain of the team as a sophomore to his
dedication on the ice and in the gym. After his junior year, Jeff left school and signed an NHL contract with the Boston Bruins. He played seven NHL pre-season games and was on the roster for the Bruins during the 2010 NHL playoffs. Jeff played professionally for ten years in the US, Europe and Japan, playing in 515 combined regular season and playoff games.
While playing, Jeff founded RIPT HOCKEY, his off ice training company. RIPT HOCKEY has grown into a progressive training company for players across the world. He trains NHL, AHL, ECHL, European professionals, College and Junior players as well as elite AAA players from around the St. Louis area at his facility. Online, NHL All Stars all the way down to eight year old hockey players (focusing on long term athletic development) from thirteen countries are training with him. His main goal is to help every client find a way to reach their maximum potential!
